Terms for a custom-coded website

What you're buying

A custom-coded website from Lizzy East (Roam Ventures, LLC), designed from your brief. Up to six pages plus a blog set up for writing, custom design, copy written from your brief, a contact form, search and AI-answer setup (titles, descriptions, structured data, sitemap, and the questions people ask answered on the page), an edit page for words, prices, hours and photographs, built to WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards, two rounds of edits on the preview, and a hand-off kit with the full source. The price is $3,000, paid once, before the brief opens. There is no monthly fee.

The first preview and the refund

Within 48 business hours of a complete brief you receive a preview of the homepage direction: the look, the words and the feel. It is not the finished site. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Pacific, excluding US federal holidays; the clock starts when your brief is submitted complete, and pauses if we ask you for more and restarts when you resubmit. If you don't like the direction, press "Not for me" on the preview and the full amount is refunded to your card. The refund closes the moment you approve a direction; after approval, the build is under way and the fee is earned.

Edits

After approval you get two rounds of edits on the preview, given as notes on the page. A round is one set of notes and one revised preview. Changes to the approved direction (a new look, new pages, a different structure) are a new scope and quoted separately. After hand-off, edits are $150 per request, where a request is one page or one change, agreed in writing before the work.

Extras

Pages beyond six: $250 each. The Brand Starter (colours, type and imagery direction; no logo): $197 with the site, $295 on its own. Optional care plans, month to month, cancel any time: Keep $79 a month, Grow $125 a month. Online booking, e-commerce, member login, or any third-party integration: quoted in writing before it is built. Nothing is added without your yes.

The Brand Starter on its own

The Brand Starter bought without a site is $295, paid once. You answer a short brief; within two business days of a complete brief you receive three brand directions (colours measured for contrast, two typefaces each, an imagery direction and usage rules) at a private link, and one round of tuning by reply. It contains no logo and no trademark search. If none of the three directions is usable, say so by reply within seven days of receiving them and the full amount is refunded. The directions and the page are yours to keep and use.

Ownership and hosting

When the site is delivered you own it: the code, the design and the copy written for you. We hand it over as a download and, if you choose, set it up as a Cloudflare Pages project in your own free account, so nothing has to run on our side. Stock photographs come from Pexels under its licence; your own photographs stay yours. Fonts are Google Fonts under their licences. Hosting, domain and any third-party services are your accounts and your costs.

Your content

You confirm you have the right to use every photograph, logo, video and piece of text you upload. Real numbers only: we never invent a review, a statistic or a claim. Your uploads and answers are encrypted at rest and used only to build your site; if you take the refund they are deleted within 30 days.

How it's made

Design and copy are prepared with AI assistance and finished by a person. Accessibility is built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards and checked before hand-off; no website can promise the absence of every legal claim, and this one doesn't.

Timing on your side

The 48-business-hour promise needs a complete brief. If the brief is thin we ask within the first business day and the clock pauses. The build after approval usually takes one to two weeks, depending on your notes; we tell you if it will take longer.

Payment and disputes

Payment is by card through Stripe. The refund above is the only refund. Questions go to the email on your receipt first. These terms are governed by the laws of California. Roam Ventures, LLC, doing business as Lizzy East.
